Chrome Extension
Written By Yuri P.
The Chrome Extension is for desktop saving. Install once — every Ads Library, TikTok scroll, LinkedIn ad, and YouTube Short turns into a one-click swipe straight into your boards.
Downloading the Chrome Extension
Make sure you have an active CopyThief account or free trial.
2. Download the extension from the Chrome Web Store.
3. Pin it to your Chrome toolbar (puzzle-piece icon → pin CopyThief).
4. Turn off any ad blockers on the platforms you plan to save from. Whitelist facebook.com, instagram.com, tiktok.com, linkedin.com, youtube.com.
Using the Chrome Extension
The extension injects a Save button directly onto every ad it can see across supported platforms. The save flow on every ad:
Click the dropdown arrow on the Save button (right side)
2. Search or select a board — type to filter, click to select
3. Close the dropdown (click outside, or hit Esc)
4. Click Save
The button turns green when the ad is in your Swipes. Selecting a board does NOT save the ad — you still click Save after picking the board.
Create Boards & Folders Inline
You don’t have to bounce back to your CopyThief dashboard to create a new board.
Click the dropdown arrow on the Save button
2. Click + New (top of the board list)
3. Choose New Board or New Folder
4. Type the name and click the checkmark to confirm
Bulk Saving to a Default Board
When you’re hunting hard — 30–50 ads in one session — set a default board so every click goes there.
Click the floating CopyThief icon on any supported page (bottom right)
2. Click Board Settings
3. Pick a default board from the dropdown
4. Click Apply
This removes the dropdown step but does NOT auto-save every ad. You still click Save on ads you want.
Supported Platforms
Meta: Facebook Ad Library, Instagram Feed. TikTok: TikTok Ad Library (EU), TikTok Top Ads, TikTok Feed, TikTok Spotlight. LinkedIn: LinkedIn Ad Library. Google: YouTube Shorts, Google Transparency Center (coming soon).
Troubleshooting Checklist
Confirm you’re logged into app.copythief.com in the same Chrome profile.
2. Disable your ad blocker on the current tab and add the platform domain to the allowlist.
3. Hard reload the page — Cmd+Shift+R (Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+R (Win).
4. Reinstall the extension if 1–3 don’t fix it. Your saves and boards survive — data is server-side.
Still stuck? Email support@copythief.com with your Chrome version, the URL you were saving from, and a screenshot.
