Instagram Permission Update (Sept 2025)
Written By Yuri P.
Meta updated Instagram permissions in September 2025. If your Instagram account is no longer visible in CopyThief, hereโs what changed and how to fix it.
What changed
In September 2025, Meta updated its permission requirements for third-party apps to access Instagram accounts. Apps that were previously connected need to be reauthorized with the new permission scopes. This affects Instagram account visibility in Co-Pilot and other areas of CopyThief.
How to fix it
Go to Settings > Integrations. Disconnect your Meta account. Click Connect Meta Account. During the new connection flow, make sure to grant Instagram permissions when prompted. Select your Instagram Business Account when asked. Complete the connection. Your Instagram account should now appear in Co-Pilot.
Requirements for Instagram access
Your Instagram account must be: a Business or Creator account (not a personal account), connected to a Facebook Page in Meta Business Manager, and managed by the Facebook user you used to connect CopyThief.
Still not showing?
Contact CopyThief support via the chat widget. Include your Instagram username, the Facebook Page it is connected to, and the email used to connect your Meta account.
