Connect Your Ad Accounts

CopyThief works without connections — you can browse Discovery, save with the extension, and use Lab on day one. But to unlock Co-Pilot (batch launch to Meta) and mobile-save from Instagram, you need to connect at least one ad account.

What Connections Unlock What

  • Meta Business: Co-Pilot launch to Meta Ads Manager, asset library sync

  • - Instagram (personal/business): Mobile saves — send Instagram posts to CopyThief, auto-save to a board

  • - Google Drive: Pull/push creative assets to CopyThief or back to your Drive

  • - Dropbox: Same as Google Drive — for teams already on Dropbox

You only need Meta for launches. The others are optional.

Connect Meta (for Co-Pilot Launches)

  1. Open Account Settings → Integrations

  2. 2. Find the Meta card → click Connect

  3. 3. You’re redirected to Facebook’s permission flow

  4. 4. Sign in with the Facebook account that has access to the ad accounts you want to use

  5. 5. Authorize the requested permissions: ads_management (required for launching), ads_read (required for reading assets), pages_read_engagement (for Page selection)

  6. 6. After confirming, you’re sent back to CopyThief

  7. 7. Select which Ad Accounts and Pages to make available in Co-Pilot

  8. 8. Click Save

The permissions you authorize are scoped to ads-management only. CopyThief cannot read your Facebook DMs, friends list, or personal data. After connecting, your ad accounts populate inside Co-Pilot within 1-2 minutes.

Multiple Meta Profiles

If you manage ads across multiple Facebook Business Manager accounts (common for agencies), you can connect more than one Meta profile. See Integrating Multiple Meta Profiles.

Connect Instagram (for Mobile Saves)

CopyThief uses a “DM forwarding” pattern that requires zero account access on Instagram’s side.

  1. Open Account Settings → Integrations

  2. 2. Find the Instagram card → click Connect

  3. 3. Enter your Instagram handle (username, no @)4. Pick the destination board for ads you’ll save from mobile5. Click ConnectTo save an ad from mobile: open Instagram, find the ad, tap the share icon, send to @copythief_co. CopyThief receives the DM and saves the ad to your selected board.## Connect Google Drive / Dropbox1. Go to Integrations → Google Drive (or Dropbox)2. Click Connect3.
